Maybe next time when you visit your friend in Petaluma, ask him to fly you over the San Francisco Bay. 

He did give me a fly over the Bay area a few years ago.  That time was scarier because it was so windy that night  

The trip was fun.  It has everything: to get to beautiful lakes there are steep hikes on the trail, smoke from a nearby fire, very hot during the day, and freezing cold at night -not to mention wind gusts that tried to knock down my tent.  I was exhausted to find all that exciting though     Anyway, to cut down the weight for the trip, I brought with me a point-and-shoot camera.  Couldn't really do much with it.  I didn't want to wade through a stream in near-total darkness for a good composition, so I used my tent as a foreground for the shot.    As you can see, that's my reward for being lazy
