Greetings in Christ! I hope that this letter finds you well. I am writing to you today to ask for your support in a summer service project that I am planning to be a part of with my church, Holy Martyrs of Vietnam Church.
As the weeks pass, I am looking forward to WorkCamp 2018, where I will get the opportunity to renovate houses for the less fortunate, strengthen my faith, and grow as a member of a Christian community. I am writing today to invite you into the adventure!
I will be spending the entire week from Jun 23 to 29 working with other youth groups from the Diocese of Arlington reaching out to the families in the Fredericksburg areas of Virginia. We will work together to offer a number of repairs to the families who require our assistance. I, along with others from Holy Martyrs, am anxious to do my part. It is an honor to reach out to those in need and truly live the Gospel and grow in my love of God and my love of neighbors.
I will be living in a Christian community for the entire week, celebrating daily Mass, working on homes and we will be sharing our faith with one another. The week also offers the opportunity to develop new relationships with other youths as well as the residents of the homes we will be working on. The experience will help me, along with the other work-campers, to move beyond our comfort zones and allow me to see the diverse lives of all God’s children.
I need your help so that WorkCamp 2018 will be a success. First of all, the success of WorkCamp 2018 depends on prayers. Please pray for the youth and adults who will be at WorkCamp 2018, as well as the residents we are privileged to serve. Secondly, I ask for your financial support. It costs about $575 per teen to attend WorkCamp 2018. This covers the expenses of the repairs, meals, supplies, transportation, gas and all other expenses associated with WorkCamp 2018. We have done a lot of fundraisings for this occasion. But we would like to be an instrument of God, bring the living Gospels to others, and extend this work of charity so you can be a part of it. Would you please consider supporting me and this worthy cause? Any donation that you make is fully tax-deductible and you will receive a tax-receipt for your records.
